How Do I Know If I Have TMJ | Chiropractor for TMJ in Fishers, IN
One of the most common conditions we see in our office is TMJ. And we often get the question well, “how do you know if you have it?”
Signs You Have TMJ
Well, what you can do is up by your ear, put your hands by that joint that you feel just outside your ear and you can open your mouth nice and wide and then close. If you do that a few times and you feel that clicking or that discomfort; that’s your TMJ joint. Another way to look for it is if you have really stiff range of motion from side to side. Those are some of the most common things, but then the bite, as you bite and you chew food, if you hear clicking or popping in associated ear pain, it’s likely TMJ. If that’s the case, come to our office to get a full assessment. We can get to the bottom of that and find out if the TMJ joint is out of alignment, which is called a subluxation.
Just a simple chiropractic adjustment to the TMJ and it’s taken care of!
